Cat Cafe Cuddles: A Cozy Sleep Story
It’s getting dark as you make your way home after a difficult day. The walk is supposed to clear your mind, but so far it isn’t working, and you are thinking of cutting the walk short and just going home. Suddenly, a lovely aroma gently wafts your way. It smells of hot chocolate, cinnamon, and perhaps freshly baked cookies.
Where is it coming from? Taking a step in the general direction of the delicious scents till you turn a corner down a street you’ve never seen before. It is lined with charming shops and eateries, but the scent leads you past these to a shop whose sign is shaped like a cat napping on a large cinnamon roll. You can’t help but smile as you look into the bay window to see a padded shelf lined with sleeping cats of all descriptions.
You eagerly enter the cat cafe where the delightful aroma is even stronger, verifying that this is indeed the source. You continue to follow the scent to a bakery case filled with cinnamon rolls, cookies, cupcakes, even some sandwiches. You notice an espresso machine on a counter with a tea kettle and an assortment of mugs. A cat rubs against your legs, leaving them a bit chilly.
You look down and pet the cat, recognizing that it is a ghost cat by its pale, shining, coat that is cold to the touch. You notice that with a few exceptions the other cats seem very much behind. You are also certain that that cafe somehow belongs to the ghost car you are now petting. It meows as though confirming the notion. The cat leads you to a comfy armchair where another cat is sleeping on one armrest while a book rests on the other. In front of the chair is a table spread with tea, scones, and tiny sandwiches. You fix yourself a cup of tea and pet the cat. The book happens to be one of your favorites. The frustrations of the day melt completely away as you sip the tea, read, and pet the cats. After a good long while, you feel rested and know that when you do go home you will be able to fully rest.
Good Night, Sleep Tight
