Enchanted Forrest Party

It's been a long time coming but I finally hosted the Enchanted Forrest Party that was originally planned for the Monday before Halloween. Then we, Sandy rained it out. So, I held it last Friday, and though the rescheduling forced some people to cancel, it was an extremely fun time. I'd been gathering decorations in my backyard for a while,I didn't see the sense in buying branches when I could collect them for free .The rest came from Wal-Mart and Target or I already owned.  I made apple cupcakes with caramel icing. Next time, I think I'm going to use apple juice or cider rather than dried apples though, The apples were a bit chewy and had an odd texture. I think I'd like to use the forest theme again for different holidays and events, Christmas, Chronicles of Narnia, really the possibilities are endless!
My aunt did this when she was a kid. Been in the family for years.

What to Watch After Stranger Things

         Anyone who’s watched the Netflix original series StrangerThings will find themselves nostalgic for the 1980’s, cassette tapes, arcades, big hair, and the now classic movies that influenced every kid who saw them.           Most of us 80’s and even early 90’s kids longed to find pirate gold, fly our bikes over town, and save the town from evil, yet hilarious witches. Stranger Things brought back all of those childhood adventures and the feeling that while being a kid was hard, it was also amazing, adventurous, and inspiring. The Grand Arrival

  After a year of waiting the gates Mount Hope have swung open for another span of faire days upon the shire. This time  however, we welcomed a new pair of monarchs, King Henry the VIII and Catherine of Aragon.  It was exciting, yelling out "Long Live the King" for the first time, since there's never been a king there as long as I've been attending. As with any new cast the first weekend is a bit stiff, but I'm looking forward to seeing them completely at one with their roles. Also, there's so much to see even without attending the shows, the glittering jewelry shops,  colorful glass ornaments, wooden and steal swords, leather goods and that's just the sights. The shire smells of roasted turkey legs,  incense, handmade soap, apple wine, funnel cakes wrapped around sticks which are so delectable that it negates the anachronism of deep frying in Tudor Times.   The best part of it all was being there with friends and making new ones.
